The payment services industry is constantly evolving: new authentication methods, mobile payment services and other services appear. To discover the next generation of ideas, Visa has launched an international startup competition.
The Visa Europe Collab Innovation Center project was launched in June this year and has already presented six finalists whose projects will make payments more accessible to consumers.
Each finalist presented their ideas in one of three categories: information technology, digital services, and group payments.
Here is a list of the finalists for each industry:
Digital services
This category is dedicated to identity authentication systems for online banking and online stores.
Biowatch SA
Offers accurate three-factor authentication, which, in addition to the traditional parameters of identity verification, takes into account biometric indicators - a pattern of veins. To this end, the company has developed a bracelet and watch with a biomarker scanning function.
Ukkobox is a cloud file protection service that creates an additional protective layer between the cloud and the user's device by encrypting users' personal data using cryptography.
Information Technology
This category includes startups that have come up with a way to securely store information on the network.
Trunomi - Solves the problems of sharing consumer information in financial institutions, including through obtaining customer consent to use this data.
Sentrycs is an identity management software that removes the need for passwords to access online services and the Internet of Things.
Group payments
Startups offered their vision of co-payment for various services.
Flendr is a social payment platform that allows you to electronically share the cost of a product or service, as well as attract funding from friends and family.
PayBox is a social network that, using special tools, allows a group of people to collect, spend and manage money together.
All finalists will be invited to the Visa Europe conference in Tel Aviv on September 9, 2021. During the event, the company will name the winner of the competition.
