According to the British Banking Association, mobile banking has become the most popular method of managing users' finances.
Experts said that mobile banking has become more popular than branches and internet banking. UK users are expected to use mobile devices 895 million times this year to check their accounts.
And by 2021, users will use smartphones and tablets to manage their accounts 2.3 billion times more than the Internet, bank branches and telephone banking combined.
By the end of March 2021, UK users had downloaded 22.9 million mobile banking apps, 8.2 million more than last year. In addition, the British transferred £ 2.9 billion a week using mobile banking this year. In 2014, that figure was £ 2 billion.
At HSBC, only 2% of payments and transfers were made at a branch of a financial institution. And at Barclays, 1,980 people logged into mobile banking every minute.
“It is very important that the government is investing more and more in 4G and high-speed broadband. This provides an opportunity for more and more people to take part in the revolution that is spreading through banking, ”said Anthony Brown, Chief Executive Officer of the British Banking Association.
As previously reported, the most frequently used mobile applications in Poland are banking, followed by mobile commerce.
