Three experts from Stanford University are working on a new project called the Human Screenome Project. According to experts, their development will take surveillance of smartphone users to a new level.
The Human Screenome Project, as the name suggests, constantly takes screenshots to create a plan or map of how a person uses their smartphone.
Researchers want to collect and analyze as much data as possible in order to assess the impact of modern phones on our lives. The main goal is an in-depth study of the time spent at the smartphone, highlighting the most frequently used applications, and the like.
According to scientists, this will help to understand how much society is psychologically dependent on smartphones, and, at best, to develop countermeasures that will help people cope more successfully with dependence on modern devices.
The Human Screenome Project will work as follows: every time the user activates the smartphone, the program in the background will start taking screenshots every five seconds - and so on until the end of the session. After that, specialists will analyze the received screenshots and will be able to create an overall picture of modern digital life.
