1. Listen to yourself
Most often, the question "how to be happy" is asked by people who are prone to reflection and creative thinking. It is these qualities that come to the rescue in the process of finding happiness, because the first step is to "separate the wheat from the chaff", and your own desires - from imposed stereotypes. Sometimes a girl was raised to devote herself to her family, and she feels an irresistible urge to launch space rockets or explore the underwater world of the Bay of Biscay. Or a fifth-generation military son wants to open a beauty salon or grow the world's pinkest tulips.

Our upbringing and environment leave an indelible imprint on our thoughts and plans, sometimes completely drowning out our own dreams. This is evidenced by dissatisfaction with your life with the apparent general well-being. If this feeling is becoming more frequent, perhaps you should listen to it? Say out loud "what does it mean to be happy?" and write down the answer in a patient, sincere, friendly way. Then switch to a few other tasks listed below-here begins an exciting journey that can change your life.

2. Move
Sometimes our days turn into a routine sequence of identical gray everyday life, and once soaring in the belly of fluttering butterflies are replaced by cats scratching at the heart. The reasons for this state of mind are very diverse, but the result is most often a desire to hide deeper. Or is it better to run away?

The results of psychological research vote for the second option. You can move in the direction of the park or square. Go to the treadmill of the nearest gym. Even if it's a salsa class! After all, physical activity saturates the blood with oxygen and promotes the production of hormones and endorphins. Thus, the state of health improves, performance increases, and anxious feelings go away. A toned body as a nice bonus can motivate you to run towards happiness today.

3. Make the world brighter
The influence of color on the mental state of a person was already known in ancient India. The knowledge of Eastern sages today is supported by the observations of scientists. For example, to lose weight, you should eat from blue dishes, and to be happy, you should surround yourself with yellow-orange and light-green objects. This palette inspires optimism, friendliness, self-confidence and a sunny mood. This range can be used in interior details, accessories, and clothing. It is important to pay attention: it is advisable to place the desired color accent in your field of vision.

4. Eat consciously
Colors can be added not only to the wardrobe, but also to the contents of the plates. We are what we eat. Or how we eat. The secret of a happy meal is different for everyone. Sometimes you should try to give up flour, sometimes-from meat. Or try to replace a snack on the go with delicious dishes at the table and get an oyster knife.

Eat food grown within a hundred-mile radius, or dine in evening dress to a Brahms clarinet quintet. The main thing is to eat, pay attention to food, saturating the body with calories, and the soul with positive emotions.

5. Touch the beautiful
For example, get to know Edouard Manet and Claude Monet better and still learn to distinguish between French Impressionists. Master the guitar or violin, learn the mazurka or bachata, roll, weave, embroider, even artistically carve with a jigsaw. The world of art is diverse and wide, in it everyone can find something to do that can please this soul.

For the past 80 years, art therapy has triumphantly marched around the planet, helping to increase self-esteem and develop the creative abilities of its fans. You can also try to express yourself through colors, sounds or dance steps-and fully experience the happiness of creating something new. If it's too early to start writing a novel or symphony, you can review the masterpieces of cinema over the past hundred years, and draw inspiration for future achievements.

6. Do good
An Anglo-American group of mathematical scientists has proved the evolutionary advantage of altruism over the egoistic model of behavior. Now the whole world knows that helping your neighbor is not only useful, but also beneficial for all participants in the process.

It is impossible to be happy in the midst of unhappy fellow human beings, and giving help brings a sense of joy and satisfaction, including to the benefactor himself. In good deeds, it is not the "amount of donation" that is important, but the general message and focus – to do good at the first opportunity. And giving up your grandmother's place in transport also counts.

7. Be friends with your neighbors
Aristotle called man a social animal. The great Greek did not want to offend anyone, only to emphasize the exclusive role of society for the formation of the individual. 2,000 years later, humanity invented the Internet and global social networks in the hope of becoming closer to each other. It turned out, frankly, crooked. But the need for communication has not disappeared, and it is unlikely to become happy without its satisfaction.

Psychologists have noticed an interesting detail: for a harmonious existence, we equally need both strong friendships and "social stroking". The last phrase is called easy, superficial interaction with unfamiliar people.

For example, greeting the baker at the bakery closest to the house, a friendly nod from the conductor on the daily route, a question about the weather of a neighbor from the top floor. Outwardly insignificant, these contacts give a sense of cohesion, security, and even a rented apartment takes on the features of a quiet, cozy harbor.

How to become happy? Harder than continuing to be unhappy. But everyone who once asked this question, and then tried the tools we offered, is able to achieve their goal. A little perseverance, a handful of positive thoughts, a little more attention to others, a little less self-criticism, plus respect for your own desires... And yesterday's dream becomes a reality today. Everything is in your hands!

Be sincere, be extremely friendly and calm.
The world is the Temple of the Lord, and your life, your activity is service in this Temple. Everything that you do is aimed at improving the Absolute, and everything that He does in relation to you is aimed at improving you.
Seemingly elementary truth, but how often we forget about it!

What happens to the practitioner of the "method of devotional service" (Bhakti yoga) seems like a miracle!
He is transformed, both spiritually and physically. His life turns into an endless holiday, his soul begins to overwhelm the feeling of permanent happiness. A person unexpectedly notices that higher Harmony, in accordance with which the whole Universe lives, and having noticed Harmony, he harmoniously organizes his own life. Of course, such a person achieves incomparably more than someone who continues to live, guided by the principles of momentary personal gain.

I do not want to seem banal, but I cannot help but remind you that happiness is not outside, but inside us. One can be happy, living in a barrel, while the other will remain deeply unhappy, having at his disposal a huge palace. Happy is the one who felt the Harmony of all that exists and allowed his soul to resonate in accordance with this Harmony. Success will become the lot of the one who internally (that is, in his soul) perceives any (!) Situation with joy, even if at first glance it carries nothing but pain and bitterness, but externally (that is, in his actions) strives to achieve all the best, never stopping at what has been achieved.
Stick to this rule, and your dreams can come true very soon.

A huge, comparable in power only to the eruption of a volcano, the advantage of a person engaged in "devotional service" over all other people is how he reacts to the failures and disappointments that befall him from time to time. It is the reaction to failure that determines where a person goes - to the heights of success or to the abyss of despair. If you are not already familiar with the Bible, be sure to open the Old Testament and read the Book of Job. All her spiritual strength, all her essence is expressed through an uncomplicated plot, subsequently used thousands of times in literature.

Someone named Job madly loved his God and lived strictly observing all His commandments. As it should have been, God paid the righteous with the same coin for love and obedience. He had everything that an Old Testament man could think of. His affairs flourished, and on the horizon of life there was not a single cloud that could darken his joy ...

But then one day the devil comes to God. “What is the use of such righteousness?” He says. “You give Job everything, so it’s not surprising that he honors You so much. Test his faith. Give me power over him for a while so that I can deprive him of all the benefits that You gave him. and then we'll see if he remains faithful to You. "

And so, in an instant, Job's life changed. His affairs fell into decay, once fat herds fell, and he himself fell ill with the most terrible disease at that time, leprosy. It would seem that there was nothing for Job to do, no matter how he fell into despair and began to blaspheme God, who treated him so treacherously, despite all his righteousness ?! This is exactly what anyone else in his place would do. However, Job, in spite of everything, remained steadfast and unshakable in his faith. The machinations of the devil were wasted and God returned to the righteous everything that he had taken from him for a while, increasing his well-being several times.

This is the plot of the story. Its essence, as you probably guessed for yourself, is how Job reacted to his losses. "Naked I came out of my mother's womb, naked and will return. The Lord gave, the Lord took it; blessed be the name of the Lord! .. Are we really going to receive good from God, but we will not accept evil?" an ordinary person's answer.

Job served God not for material gain, not in the hope of getting into the Kingdom of Heaven after death. The presence of God in his heart was more than enough for him, and even suffering from a terrible illness, he remained happy. The material reward that followed was only a consequence of his faith.

"What's above is below!"
Since Job's soul was in harmony on the "higher" Planes, this harmony could not but manifest itself on the Physical Plane in the form of luck, health, prosperity!
