The 45-year-old Israeli confessed to scamming investors from Germany, Austria and other countries through call centers operating in Eastern European cities. The man helped steal almost $ 10 million from hundreds of victims of a large-scale cybertrading scam while under the influence of cocaine and whiskey.
As reported by the news agency Bloomberg, in fact, investors never had a chance to get their money back, let alone make a profit. The defendant was a member of Operation Wolf of Sofia, named after its leader, Gal B.
From 2015 to 2019, the Israeli was the manager of call centers operating in Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Georgia. The scammers used trading platforms, which they called Safemarkets, OptionStarsGlobal, Cryptopoint, XTraderFX, etc. On the XTraderFX platform, investors from all over the world paid at least $ 70 million in less than a year.
