Companies cite online fraud as their biggest problem

According to a study by Experian, most companies (78%) in Europe, the Middle East and Africa consider online fraud to be their biggest problem.

At the same time, 79% of respondents believe that cases of online fraud will increase significantly within five years.

Currently, 47% of telecommunications and financial organizations have encountered fraudsters who used bank card numbers. In addition, 71% of respondents say this problem will become more serious in Europe, the Middle East and Africa over the next five years.

The study also found that identity theft is currently a major problem for 24% of companies operating in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. At the same time, it is expected that within five years this problem will double and 48% of companies will suffer from it.

Many companies are trying to strike the right balance between tight fraud control and the convenience of their users. Three out of four companies believe that fraudsters penetrate internal systems and this problem needs to be addressed now.

As previously reported, the level of card fraud in France decreased from € 238.6 million in 2013 to € 234.6 million.
