A psychological anomaly, consisting in the development of empathy between the victim (hostage, slave or prisoner) and the person in whose hands the life of the first is.
Simply put, the offender and the hostage begin to relate positively to each other, sincerely care for each other.
This syndrome is quite rare (according to statistics, only 8% of cases).
However, the reason for such a low number of such cases lies not in the fact that some "special sacrifices" are required for this, but in the need for correct behavior on the part of the person who deprives the victim of freedom.
The behavior itself should consist of a few simple rules:
1) The offender should not mock the victim without justifying the latter for his actions.
Simply put, do not fuck 24/7, indulging your sick vanity. Failure to comply with this rule is a big mistake in a huge number of cases.
Criminals simply mock the victim, often with a sophisticated fantasy.
And this, instead of empathy, forms hatred.
2) The offender must be attentive to the needs of the prisoner.
